Facing the Hudson River waterfront in lower Manhattan the DSNY salt shed serves both as a storage facility and an architectural landmark. The surface of the building is made of exposed concrete and is a reflection of the material it holds inside – salt. Recessed in-ground luminaires from the Meyer Upline series accentuate the polygon shaped façade of the building.
