The Ellinikon Experience Park is an introduction to the future Hellinikon Metropolitan Park, Europe’s largest urban regeneration project. Located on the ground of Athens’ former airport, this mixed-use public space is focused on sustainable design principles. The illumination of the paths, landscape and recreational facilities has to be considerate to both the environment and visitors to the park. Glare control and precise light distribution are essential criterions for the lighting design. Monospot pole luminaires with wide beam reflectors and street optics, equipped with cowls to avoid light spill, are used to achieve these goals.
