Dating from the 19th century, the historical Zwingerpark is located in the heart of the city of Offenburg, in southern Germany. The lighting design for the park had to find a balanced solution for aspects of sustainability and public security. To achieve this goal, differentiated lux levels throughout the night are essential. Dimmable Monsopot floodlights with warm light colours, mounted on poles or with tree straps, are used for this task. Together with precise accent lighting of the city wall and of various statues in the park, spatial depth can be experienced. This project is a winner of the German Lighting Design Award 2024.
